Honora is an award-winning writer and director originally from Virginia. Her stories are united by biting humor and bold twists grounded by painfully relatable characters. In particular, she loves to spotlight the cringey costs of women battling societal expectations.
Her short films have been an NBCU SHORT FILM FESTIVAL FINALIST, screened at TRIBECA, Montreal’s JUST FOR LAUGHS, AFI FEST, AUSTIN FILM FEST, MILL VALLEY and over 12 Oscar Qualifying Festivals. They were licensed by NBC NEWS, Revry, and Gunpowder and Sky’s DUST. She also produced the SXSW Audience Award Winning Feature “Bitch Ass,” distributed by Quiver.
Honora has developed shows and features with Lena Dunham, Minnie Driver, and Spyglass. As an actor, her credits include Netflix’s Master of None and Apple’s Shrinking. She was also a fellow in MTV’s FIRST TIME DIRECTORS INITIATIVE.
Previous work includes many silly comedy sketches that were featured five times in Huffington Post, twice in Bustle, along with US Magazine, the A.V. Club, The Nerdist, LA Weekly, Entertainment Weekly, Pop Sugar, Cosmopolitan, and more.
If you couldn’t tell by those highly featured palm trees, she lives in Los Angeles, enjoys taking photos with her mom’s old film camera, and probably won’t correct you if you say her name wrong. But for the record, the H is silent.
